Palacio Arias: Its first owner was an asturian, Mr Indalecio Garcia Arias and Coaña, who emigrated to Puerto Rico and became rich with coffee toasters. When he came back to Asturias, he decided to build an Indian palace, which proyect was designed by distinguished
asturian Mr Luis Menendez Pidal.
Curiosly, this building is one of the counted new plant pieces of work that the mentioned architect made, then he spent his time mainly to restore monuments from past. Almost seventy years after, the building has been restored and converted to a little and cosy hotel, that still has first owner oak and chestnut furniture, tapestries and clocks. Saloons conserve the whole time style, inside wood stairs; a full example of buildings made by those who went to America. It has sixteen full equipped comfortable rooms. The palace is surrounded by two thousand square meters outlined by an owner´s brother, priest enthusiast to all these things who was advised by a well-known gardener called Pedro Mujica. Magnolias, camellias, palm trees, hydrangeas, and many others are part of vegetation that envelopes the palace. A swimming pool reconverted to a pond with jets.
But hotel jewel is 315 room. All made of wood, offers acces to the palace tower, and once you are in it, you can admire all the garden and river of the village.
A billard hall, reading room, little chapel, and a small saloon where you can have breakfast, are other of the common hotel spaces. It has a conference saloon with private desktops, equipped with all the audiovisual stuff needed and other different saloons turned to the different customers requests (parties, meetings,…).
